On Friday, July 26, 2019 at about 11:30 am, Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested 48-year-old San Jose Police Officer John Tompkins for illegal narcotics and firearms-related charges, as a result of a narcotics investigation that stemmed from a traffic enforcement stop conducted by a DPS Officer.
