The El Cerrito Police Department would like to take a moment to recognize and appreciate the vigilant members of our community. Yesterday at approximately 4:30 pm, a collision occurred in the intersection of Moeser Lane and Richmond Street involving a tanker truck and a small hatchback. Several motorists immediately stopped their vehicles, called 911, and began assessing the welfare of the involved parties. Due to their quick action and multiple calls to the dispatch center, Emergency Personnel from El Cerrito PD, El Cerrito FD, and AMR responded to the scene within minutes. The driver of the hatchback was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the tanker truck was uninjured. We as an agency rely on the community to provide us with accurate, expedient details of an emergency in progress. Yesterday’s calls to dispatch were exactly that.
