#LASD Triple Fatal Traffic Collision, Pearlblossom Hwy btwn 60th & 70th St East, Palmdale
Traffic Investigators from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding a triple fatal traffic collision that occurred on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at approximately 7:00 A.M. on Pearlblossom Highway between 60th and 70th Street East in Palmdale.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a Nissan truck travelling south on Pearblossom Highway collided with a semi-trailer truck travelling north on Pearblossom Highway. The force of the impact caused the semi-trailer truck’s cabin to erupt in flames.
California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel as well as deputies from Palmdale Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene to render aid. Two of the three male adult occupants in the Nissan truck were pronounced dead at the scene. The third occupant was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The male adult driver and sole occupant of the semi-trailer truck was additionally transported to a local hospital for minor injuries and is expected to survive.
At this time, it appears the Nissan truck veered into oncoming traffic, resulting in the collision. Alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
