Advisory

STORM UPDATE: Many issues remain and will last into the evening rush hour-possibly linger! Check the link for details

Most of the issues reported earlier are still active. Cleanup and restoration could be a very slow process. Hopefully it will move quickly - as I'm writing this power has been restored to the Clarksville Rd area. Washington Rd, which was reported to be closed last night, has been re-opened, but Alexander Rd remains closed and is expected to stay closed into the evening rush hour. There are still several tree, wires, and poles down. Remember, if you see a wire down always assume it is LIVE and do not touch it. Below is a link to the West Windsor Traffic/Damage Google Map. It shows real time the current hazards that are known to us. We have limited the map to wires/poles down and traffic lights out for now. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1-SNyGRFZOho5d2criGhd0m2ISoDR6SX6&usp=sharing We have several extra officers working in order to handle the influx of calls relating to power outage issues. We as that you please refrain from calling 911 for restoration estimates or power outage questions UNLESS you have a life threatening emergency. For information about the power outage you can refer to one of the following two links: PSE&G: http://outagecenter.pseg.com/external/m.html JCP&L: http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html The Mayor has been in contact with PSE&G & JCP&L and here is what they are reporting: PSE&G update: West Windsor and Hamilton were worst affected in Mercer county. West Windsor has about 3000 customers out due to Clarksville and Penns neck substations. PSE & G is working on both as we speak. Many of us got a text message with an estimated restoration of 12:30 p.m. That message and estimate is computer generated. The PSE & G rep won’t bet his life on it. The company has a conference call around 2 p.m. I will update as soon as I have more information. I am hopeful both substations will be taken care of before the conference call starts. JCP&L update: Just spoke with the JCP&L representative and I am afraid I don't have good news. The outage in West Windsor is due to lot of trees down on Hankins road and he suspects that's the main reason everyone in West Windsor is affected. The worse news is that he can't give me an estimate for restoration since they have not completed assessment of the damage yet and don't know what work will be required to restore power. The best he could tell is the assessment will not be complete before tomorrow morning We have agreed to keep talking and I will update as soon as I get additional information. PST Quinn #752
