The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a
* Flood Advisory for... Southwestern White County in southeastern Illinois... Southeastern Hamilton County in south central Illinois...
* Until 1030 PM CDT.
* At 734 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Carmi, Norris City and Broughton.
* AFFECTED AREAS: WHITE, IL ... HAMILTON, IL
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
