FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR MONDAY AFTERNOON

Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following areas, in northeast New Jersey, eastern Bergen, eastern Essex, eastern Passaic, eastern Union, Hudson, western Bergen, western Essex, western Passaic, and western Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (brooklyn), New York (manhattan), northern Nassau, northern Queens, Richmond (staten island), southern Nassau, southern Queens, and southern Westchester.

* From Monday afternoon through Tuesday morning

* Rain showers with embedded thunderstorms will develop and move across Monday through early Tuesday. The thunderstorms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall and multiple rounds of these thunderstorms with heavy rain will be possible. Rainfall totals of around 1.5 to 2 inches are expected with locally higher amounts possible.

* Flash flooding will be possible, especially in areas of poor drainage, low-lying areas, and in urban areas. Fast reacting rivers and streams may flood as well.
