Full Notification

On Friday, July 19, 2019, at approximately 6:57 PM, deputies from Industry Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of 200 block of Covina Boulevard, Bassett regarding a possible kidnapping call.
 
Upon arrival, the deputies contacted a female at the location. The female sustained visible injuries and stated she was a victim of kidnapping. According to the victim, the suspect held her against her will and sexually assaulted her. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital.
 
The suspect barricaded himself inside his residence when the deputies attempted to contact him. A containment was set up around the residence area. Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the location and maintained communication with the suspect in an attempt to have him surrender peacefully.
 
During the communication, Industry Station detectives approached the front door of the residence and the suspect walked out without incident. He was taken into custody.
 
The investigation is ongoing. There is no additional information at this time.
