EXTREME HEAT ADVISORY THROUGH SUNDAY JULY 21, 2019. GARWOOD BOROUGH HALL WILL REMAIN OPEN AS A RELIEF STATION FOR THOSE WITHOUT AC.

Hazardous Weather Discussion
Extreme heat is forecast through the weekend. An Excessive Heat Warning is posted today through 10 PM Sunday for all New Jersey counties. An Air Quality Alert is posted from 11 AM to 11 PM Friday for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties. High temperatures and humidity will result in heat index temperatures that range from 98˚ to 110˚ on Friday, and 105˚ to 115˚ on Saturday and Sunday.
Impacts to New Jersey
High heat index temperatures increase the risk of life-threatening heat-related illnesses. Vulnerable populations include the elderly, very young, people with chronic health issues, those with heart and lung conditions, people without air conditioning, pets, and people working outside. Avoid strenuous activity outside during the hottest part of the day, stay hydrated, and never leave children and pets in cars. Heat stroke can be deadly.
