On 7/18/19, at approximately 3:30pm, Fairfield PD officers responded to the area of Travis Boulevard and North Texas Street to investigate a theft that had just occurred from a business. Upon arrival, officers spoke with several witnesses that provided a detailed description of the suspect and the direction he was last seen. Based upon the information provided by witnesses, officers located the suspect, a 42 year-old Fairfield resident, as he was giving the stolen property to a 47 year-old Fairfield resident. Officers detained both subjects and discovered the person receiving the stolen items was in possession of a loaded, illegally modified shotgun, and methamphetamine. Further investigation revealed the suspect that possessed the firearm was also a convicted felon. He was booked into jail on numerous weapons and drug charges.
The Fairfield PD would like to express our appreciation to the residents that came forward and were willing to work with us during this investigation. It is through these cooperative relationships that we can all help make our community safer. The police department encourages anyone that witnesses a crime to immediately report it to the police.
