Police Release Identity in Fatal Crash. Police Make 2 Arrests in Robbery case.

Robbery Arrests
 
Two men have been arrested in connection with a robbery on Bayberry Court Tuesday evening. Police were called at 5:11pm on a reported motor vehicle crash on the street. When officers arrived they learned the crash happened after the victim who was sitting in the driver’s seat was pulled from the vehicle by two men and punched. The car rolled forward and struck a parked vehicle. The victim said after he was pulled from the car, he was assaulted and the suspects stole a backpack from the vehicle. Officers and detectives canvassed the area and interviewed witnesses.

The on scene investigation determined that the victim was lured to the street to be robbed by the two men. The suspects were identified as Al’ Jamar Taylor and Jason Briggs both age 18 of South Brunswick. Detectives monitored the area and arrested both men at Briggs’ Bayberry Court residence at 10pm. Detectives recovered 50 decks of heroin and marijuana when they arrested the men.
 
Taylor and Briggs are charged with robbery, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and distribution of heroin.
 
Fatal Crash Update 

South Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau continues to investigate the Wednesday afternoon crash on Route 130 that claimed the life of a Monroe woman. Investigators have determined that a 20 year female from New Egypt was driving a 2019 VW Jetta south on Route 130 and a 2008 Nissan being driven by a 68 year old female from South Brunswick was making a left from Route 130 north onto Distribution Way. The Monroe woman, Dorothy Demeo age 79 was a passenger in the VW. She was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where she was pronounced dead.
