Extreme heat is forecast through the weekend. Heat index values will rise over the next few days, potentially reaching 107 to 112 degrees.

Extreme heat is forecast through the weekend. An Excessive Heat Warning is posted today through 10 PM Sunday. High temperatures and humidity on Thursday will create heat index values near 100 degrees in the warning area. An Excessive Heat Watch is posted for all remaining New Jersey counties from noon Friday through 10 PM Sunday.

Impacts to New Jersey

High heat index temperatures increase the risk of life-threatening heat-related illness. Vulnerable populations include the elderly, very young, people with chronic health issues, those with heart and lung conditions, people without air conditioning, pets, and people working outside. Heat index values will rise over the next few days, potentially reaching 107 to 112 degrees on Saturday.
