The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Ocean County in southern New Jersey... Monmouth County in central New Jersey... Southeastern Middlesex County in northern New Jersey...

* Until 1000 PM EDT.

* At 918 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Brownville to near Seaside Heights, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.

* Locations impacted include... Toms River, Long Branch, Asbury Park, Lakewood, Middletown, Old Bridge, Jackson, Howell, Marlboro, Manalapan, Tinton Falls, Holmdel, Red Bank, Beachwood, Matawan, Jamesburg, Manasquan, Highlands, Point Pleasant Beach and Seaside Heights.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MIDDLESEX, NJ ... MONMOUTH, NJ ... OCEAN, NJ

Instructions:

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Mount Holly NJ. Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. SEEK SHELTER IMMEDIATELY inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
