Police seek the public's help in identifying theft suspect
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the below pictured suspect in the theft of an electric bicycle from New Street, near Washington Street, on Friday, July 12, 2019.
The victim parked the bike between 11:50 a.m. and 12 p.m. and returned to discover that it had been stolen. A stock photo of the stolen bike has been provided below.
Detectives investigating this theft retrieved the below surveillance photo of the suspect and are seeking the public’s help in quickly identifying him so that he can be removed from our streets.
Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about this suspect to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
