Advisory

Flash Flood Watch

Flash Flood Watch will go into effect at 2:00 PM today, 7/17/19, until 1:00 AM tomorrow, 7/18/19. Be prepared to take action in the event that flooding develops.

-The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of northern Delaware, northeast Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia.

- A hot and humid airmass will spread over the region today, and then the remnants of what was Tropical Cyclone Barry will pass through the region tonight. Showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight will be capable of producing torrential rainfall, with local amounts of 2 to 4 inches and even higher localized amounts potentially occurring in a short period of time. This could lead to flash flooding.

- The risk of flash flooding is highest in urbanized and low-lying areas. Rapid rises on small creeks and streams are possible.
