...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM MDT TODAY FOR DRY FUELS, WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200 AND 202 IN NORTHWEST COLORADO, FIRE WEATHER ZONE 203 BELOW 7000 FEET IN WEST-CENTRAL COLORADO AND FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 487 AND 490 BELOW 7000 FEET IN EAST-CENTRAL UTAH... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR DRY FUELS, WIND AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200, 202, 203 BELOW 7000 FEET, 290, 292 AND 207 IN WESTERN COLORADO AND FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 486, 487, 490 AND 491 BELOW 7000 FEET IN EASTERN UTAH... .Gusty southwest winds will combine with low relative humidity and dry fuels today and Wednesday afternoon and evening. This will result in critical fire weather conditions today for portions of east-central Utah and west-central and northwestern Colorado. These critical conditions will expand to include all lower elevations of eastern Utah and western Colorado on Wednesday. The overnight hours will see humidities recover slightly as winds decrease to under 15 mph. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for dry fuels, wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area and Fire Weather Zone 292 North Fork Forecast Area.
* WINDS...West 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.
* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for the rapid ignition, growth, and spread of fires. Agricultural burning is discouraged.
