On July 13, 2019, officers of the Amarillo Police Department were dispatched to the 5500 block of SW 9th to investigate the report that someone was shot. Officers arrived and found Remon Begay, age 27 deceased. Justice of the Peace Gary Jackson ordered an autopsy. There is no suspect being sought. The Amarillo Police Department Homicide Unit continues its investigation and asks for anyone with information about this shooting to call 378-9468.
