FLASH FLOOD WATCH FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY EVENING

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southern Illinois, western
Kentucky, and southeast Missouri, including the following
areas, in southern Illinois, Alexander, Johnson, Massac,
Pulaski, and Union. In western Kentucky, Ballard, Carlisle,
Fulton, Graves, Hickman, and McCracken. In southeast Missouri,
Bollinger, Butler, Cape Girardeau, Carter, Mississippi, New
Madrid, Ripley, Scott, Stoddard, and Wayne MO.

* Heavy rainfall from the remnants of Tropical Storm Barry will
affect the region. Rainfall amounts are forecast to range from
2.5 to 5 inches across the watch area.

* Flash flooding could lead to life threatening situations for
motorists and individuals exposed to low lying areas or rapidly
rising creeks and rivers.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
