Public Information Statement regarding T.S. Barry

T.S. Barry Public Information Statement

ALL residents are encouraged to take time this evening and tomorrow to review your Disaster Plan and Disaster Communications Plan, also check and refresh your Disaster Supply Kit!!

Potential for wide-spread flash flooding this weekend and early next week.  With the effects from what remains of T.S. Barry passing through our area Sunday and Monday we could have 4-8 inches of rainfall with localized higher amounts.

Those who have been affected recently by the flash floods and everyone living in  low-lying areas are encouraged to have a plan in place to relocate to safer higher ground.  Also, take precautionary measures to protect your property and possessions.  We recommend raising your furniture and appliance as high as possible to prevent damage from possible flash flooding.

All residents should begin keeping up with the weather regularly as the forecast changes several times a day.

DON’T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO PREPARE YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR HOME AND YOUR BUSINESS FOR THIS POTENTIAL FLASH FLOOD EVENT.

Along with the flash flooding, there is a marginal risk of tornadoes and strong winds as this system comes through our area.

SHELTERING:
The Washington County Convention Center is currently on stand-by with the Red Cross should a shelter need to be opened.
