Deputies identify and arrest a 16-year-old male for armed robbery of two victims during a sale of property

SUMMARY: On July 2, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to an armed robbery that occurred in the 16500 block of Seneca Road. The suspect advertised a phone for sale on Offer Up and agreed to meet with a potential buyer at an apartment complex in the 16500 block of Seneca Road. During the meeting the suspect brandished a handgun and demanded money from the victim. After taking the money, the suspect left the location without giving the victim the phone. Deputies were unable to locate the suspect.
On July 5, 2019, deputies responded to another armed robbery call at the apartment complex. The circumstances were similar, and the suspect description matched that of the suspect from the July 2, 2019 robbery. Once again, an extensive area search was conducted but the suspect was not located.
The investigation continued over the next several days. Through the investigation deputies learned the identity of the 16-year-old male suspect and discovered he may be responsible for other similar incidents. An arrest warrant for the juvenile was authored and obtained. On July 11, 2019, deputies located and arrested the suspect in the area of Seneca Road and Rodeo Drive, near the apartment complex. He was booked at High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for robbery.
