The public’s help is needed in identifying the second suspect involved in two separate robberies

SUSPECT: Demarion Xavier Smith, 20-year old Apple Valley

SUMMARY:
On July 9, 2019, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to two separate robbery calls with similar circumstances. The first incident reported at 11:05 am, occurred on Arvila Drive. The second incident reported at 12:36 pm, occurred on Nyack Road. The victims both advertised shoes for sale on the “Offer Up” app and agreed to have the interested buyer come to their homes to make the purchase. In both cases, the suspects arrived in a silver BMW. They grabbed the shoes out of the hands of the sellers and fled.
Through investigation, deputies discovered one of the suspects was Demarion Xavier Smith of Apple Valley. On July 10, 2019, the silver BMW was spotted by deputies traveling on Amargosa Road near Palmdale Road. A traffic stop was conducted, and Demarion Smith was taken into custody without incident. Smith was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for robbery.
