VICTIM: 41 year-old Male Black
UNIT: Homicide Bureau – Lieutenant Dean
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau Investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a male Black adult that occurred on the 1200 block of South Castlegate Avenue, Compton on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 11:35 a.m.
Detectives have learned that Compton Station deputies responded to a gunshot victim call. Upon their arrival they located the victim, who was suffering from one gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
One male Black adult detained at the scene pending interviews.
There is no known motive at this time.
The investigation is on-going, and no further information is available.
