INCIDENT: Possession of a Controlled Substance for Sale, Transporting a Controlled Substance

LOCATION: 15800 block of Mojave Drive, Victorville

SUSPECT: Marques Walker, 31-year old Victorville transient


SUMMARY: On July 5, 2019, Deputy E. Smith with the Victorville Police Department conducted a vehicle check at the Circle K on Mojave Drive. Smith observed a male and female exit a black Dodge Charger at the gas pumps and go inside the store, leaving a two-year-old child unattended in the car.

When Deputy Smith approached the car to check the welfare of the child, he saw drugs located in the storage area of the car door. Smith contacted the driver and passenger as they returned to the vehicle. The driver, identified as Marques Walker, was the owner of the vehicle and father of the child. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and deputies found over 90 grams of methamphetamine, over 30 grams of crack cocaine, over 1800 grams of marijuana, numerous pills including Xanax and Ecstasy, paraphernalia associated with the use and sales of drugs, and a large amount of cash.

Walker was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for possession of a controlled substance for sale and transporting a controlled substance. The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review and consideration of additional charges.
