On Monday, July 8, 2019 at about 1:27 a.m., a fatal traffic collision involving one vehicle occurred near the intersection of Cabrillo Avenue and Fordham Drive.
A black Honda Fit, travelling eastbound on Cabrillo Avenue at a high rate of speed, struck parked cars along the 3300 block of Cabrillo Avenue. The two occupants of the Honda were ejected from the vehicle.
A 29-year-old male, who is a San Leandro resident, was transported to Valley Medical Center where he is in critical condition.
A 25-year old female, who is a San Leandro resident was transported to Valley Medical Center. The female was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Traffic investigators are working on identifying which party was driving. It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were involved.
