Wilmington Police arrest two juveniles, recover stolen vehicle after aggravated menacing incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested and charged two juveniles, and recovered a stolen vehicle, after an aggravated menacing incident and investigation.
On July 3 at approximately 6:34 a.m., police were called to the 700 block of 4th Street in reference to reports of a man with a gun. Police learned that a group of juveniles approached two individuals, and that two of the juveniles threatened them with weapons – one with a firearm and another with a metal baton – before leaving the scene. Police located the two juveniles driving a vehicle in the 200 block of Madison Street, and after they stopped the vehicle both juveniles fled on foot.
Police took the 16-year-old male and the 13-year-old male into custody without incident after the foot pursuit. Officers later learned that the vehicle had been previously stolen, and had not yet been reported as such.
The 16-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Aggravated Menacing
- Theft Over $1,500
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Terroristic Threatening (Two Counts)
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $6,900 secured bail.
The 13-year-old male has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
- Aggravated Menacing (Two Counts)
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $7,300 secured bail.
