Flash Flood Warning until 03:00AM Monday

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... Southwestern Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia... Southeastern Upshur County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 300 AM EDT.

* At 1153 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to one to one and a half inches of rain has already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mill Creek, Dailey, Beverly, Womelsdorf (Coalton), Huttonsville, Alexander, Ellamore, Eden, Tallmansville, Overhill, Helvetia and Alton. This includes the following streams and drainages... McGee Run, Right Fork Middle Fork River, Right Fork Little Kanawha River, Chenoweth Creek, Crawford Run, Whitman Run, Beech Run, Little Kanawha River, French Creek, Whitmeadow Run, Fish Hole Run, Mill Creek, Suter Run, Grassy Creek, Left Fork Sand Run, Little Sand Run, Tygart Valley River, Little Laurel Fork, Right Fork Chenoweth Creek, Left Fork Buckhannon River, Bens Run, Back Fork Elk River, Wamsley Run, Right Fork Mill Creek, Riffle Creek, Right Fork Buckhannon River, Laurel Run, Limekiln Run, Big Run and Buckhannon River.

* AFFECTED AREAS: UPSHUR, WV ... RANDOLPH, WV

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Please report Severe Weather to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely. You may also report severe weather by posting your report to the Charleston West Virginia National Weather Service Facebook Page, or by using the Twitter Hashtag, NWSRLX.
