Suffolk County Police Seventh Squad detectives are investigating an incident in which two people were struck by shots fired from a moving vehicle in Shirley last night.
 
A large group of people attending a party at 8 West Parkview Drive were on both the front lawn and the roadway in front of the residence when shots were fired in their direction from a passing car at approximately 11:30 p.m. A 41-year-old Mastic Beach woman was shot in the leg and a 32-year-old Coram man was shot in the foot. Both victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The vehicle from which the shots were fired was described as a newer model, light colored, Nissan 4-door sedan.
