Surveillance Video Released in Suspected Road Rage Incident

July 5, 2019 – Deputies investigating a July 4 suspected road rage incident have released surveillance video depicting the vehicle of a possible suspect.

The incident occurred at 7:50 p.m. at a gas station near the intersection of Ella Boulevard and West Mount Houston (Texas 249).

A pickup truck occupied by a man, a woman, and two children – ages 1 and 2 – was involved in a dispute with the driver of what appears to be a light-colored 2016-2018 Ford Explorer.

An occupant of the Ford Explorer, possibly a black man, is believed to have fired a gun into the pickup truck, causing fireworks inside the vehicle to ignite.

The man and the two children were seriously burned during the ensuing fire, and the three were taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where they are listed in stable condition.
