Flash Flood Warning until 08:15PM

The National Weather Service in Charleston West Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... A Dam Break in... Northeastern Randolph County in northeastern West Virginia...

* Until 815 PM EDT Thursday.

* At 208 PM EDT, Randolph County officials reported the imminent failure of an earthen dam near Whitmer. Persons in Whitmer are currently being evacuated. If the dam fails, water will flow towards Harman and impact the community. Please follow the advice of local officials.

* Locations impacted include... Whitmer, Harman and Dryfork. This includes the following streams and drainages... Dry Fork, Laurel Fork, Big Run, Horsecamp Run, Glady Fork, Tory Camp Run, Gandy Creek, Flannigan Run, Stinking Run, Snyder Run, Beaverdam Run, Panther Camp Run and Bennett Run.

* AFFECTED AREAS: RANDOLPH, WV

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.
