Traffic Advisory - 4th of July Celebration

Monroe Township will be celebrating Independence Day on Thursday, July 4th at Thompson Park beginning at 5:00 PM followed by fireworks at dusk.

Traffic Information:
Once the parking lots in the Park are full, all the entrances to the Park will be closed off , and everyone will be directed to park near the softball fields located off of Fir Drive (off Perrineville Rd. between Schoolhouse Road and the Jamesburg Border).

Shuttles will be available throughout the evening to transport everyone from the parking area near the softball fields down to the Event at the Lake in Thompson Park and back. Handicapped parking and transportation will also be available at the Fir Drive Entrance to the Park.

When the fireworks are over, Perrineville Rd. will be shut down between Schoolhouse Rd. and Forsgate Drive in Jamesburg to thru traffic until approximately 10:30 PM when the pedestrian traffic clears out. All the vehicles parked at the softball fields off Fir Drive will be able to exit the Park Southbound on Perrineville Rd. towards Schoolhouse Rd.

Avoid the area if possible; expect delays, and plan an alternate route. We apologize for any inconvenience which may result from the traffic delays stemming from this Event.
