The National Weather Service in Charleston has expanded the
* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of southeast Ohio and West Virginia, including the following areas, in southeast Ohio, Washington. In West Virginia, Barbour, Braxton, Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Harrison, Lewis, Northwest Fayette, Northwest Nicholas, Northwest Pocahontas, Northwest Raleigh, Northwest Randolph, Northwest Webster, Pleasants, Ritchie, Southeast Fayette, Southeast Nicholas, Southeast Raleigh, Southeast Randolph, Southeast Webster, Taylor, Tyler, Upshur, Wirt, and Wood.
* Through Friday evening
* Due to rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday, the soil has become saturated in many areas. Additional thunderstorms could cause flash flooding. The best chance for flooding problems will be today and Friday during the afternoon and evening hours.
* Flooding of urban and other poor drainage areas, as well as creek and small stream flooding, is possible. People residing near creeks and small streams should monitor the latest forecasts, and prepare to take immediate action should flooding occur, or if a flash flood warning is issued.
