**UPDATE** #LASD Missing Person, male 73 years old has been located. Thank you to the public in their efforts to locate him.

On June 29, 2019, multiple search and rescue teams and volunteers from throughout California and Los Angeles County continued their search in the Angeles National Forest for a 73 year old male, missing since being separated from his hiking group on June 22, 2019.  These searchers consisted of approximately 75 people broken into 11 search teams. 

At approximately 1100 hours, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Altadena Search and Rescue Team located the missing hiker down a ravine in the Devil’s Canyon area, quite a few miles away from the trail of the original hike.

The missing hiker appeared to have no traumatic injuries and was airlifted by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Helicopter Air-5 to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department gives a heartfelt thank you to all the assisting agencies, volunteers, local businesses and public who assisted with their time and resources in this massive search effort, which thankfully led to the hiker being located in stable condition.
