INCIDENT: PC 330 - Illegal Gambling

LOCATION: 57560 Twentynine Palms Highway, Town of Yucca Valley

SUSPECT: Shane Neuman, 49-year-old resident of Joshua Tree.

SUMMARY:
On Thursday, June 27, 2019, at about 7:52 p.m., the Yucca Valley Multiple Enforcement Team (M.E.T.) and deputies from the Morongo Basin Station, served a search warrant at 57560 Twentynine Palms Highway in the Town of Yucca Valley. The location was an illegal gambling establishment, located inside a store front which resembled a shoe repair shop. During the execution of the search warrant, 19 computers and over $1,000 in cash were seized. Shane Neuman, a 49-year-old Joshua Tree resident, was identified as the facilitator of the illegal gambling establishment and arrested. Other subjects contacted at the location were arrested for outstanding warrants and various other charges.

Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) is a specialized position within the Town of Yucca Valley’s Police Department. Sheriff's Detective Emanuel Popa and Deputy Robert Stucki are currently assigned to this full-time position. The primary focus of P.O.P. is to provide solutions to law enforcement related issues which adversely affect the citizens who live, work and visit the Town of Yucca Valley.

Positions funded by the Town of Yucca Valley Measure Y were instrumental in the investigation of this case.
