Community Reminder: Fireworks are Illegal in the City of Fairfield.

The Fairfield Police and Fire Department would like to remind residents and visitors alike: Fireworks are not allowed in the City of Fairfield.

With the holiday quickly approaching, we would like to take this opportunity to remind the public of the ban on all types of fireworks in the City of Fairfield, including the “safe and sane” fireworks. There is good reason for this ban, as fireworks are the primary cause of thousands of fires and injuries throughout the United States each 4th of July. In addition, the loud noises also have an adverse effect on household animals and could trigger symptoms of  PTSD in Veterans.

If you are in possession of illegal fireworks, you could face a penalty and fine. For further reference, please refer to the City of Fairfield local municipal code Chapter 56 Subsection 5601.1.3  prohibiting fireworks in Fairfield. The Fairfield Fire Department is offering an amnesty program where you can drop off your fireworks, no questions asked. Drop them off at Station 37, 1200 Kentucky St, Fairfield.

The community is encouraged to take advantage of legal public fireworks displays, such as the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Suisun Marina.

The Fairfield Police and Fire Department looks forward to working with our citizens in creating a safe and enjoyable summer season. Have a happy and safe fourth.
