Man Suspected in Two Armed Robberies
Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the man believed to be responsible for two armed robberies on Tuesday.
The armed robberies were committed early in the morning on Tuesday, June 25, at the Giant gas station, 1865 University Ave., and Tuesday evening at the Pizza Hut restaurant, 2205 Missouri Avenue. No injuries were reported in either incident.
Las Cruces police believe the same man is responsible for both incidents. In each case, the man brandished a handgun and demanded cash from employees.
The Giant gas station robbery occurred about 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, while the robbery at the Pizza Hut was reported about 10:30 p.m. the same day.
The suspect is described as African-American with a light-complexion and about 6-feet tall. In each case, he was wearing a black, albeit different, hoodie. He was wearing black, skinny jeans with white shoes in the Giant gas station robbery.
Surveillance cameras at both businesses captured images of the suspect. Those images can be seen on the Las Cruces Police Department’s Facebook page.
Anyone with information that can help identify the suspect is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.
Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers do not have to leave their own name and will remain completely anonymous.
