Wilmington Police recover stolen vehicle, arrest two juveniles for resisting arrest:

Wilmington Police have arrested two juveniles and recovered a vehicle moments after it was stolen.

 

On June 21 at approximately 2:31 a.m., a police officer was on foot patrol in the area of 4th and Delamore Streets when he observed a vehicle strike a parked car and then continue driving. As the officer approached the vehicle, multiple suspects fled from the car in different directions.

 

The officer was able to take two of the vehicle’s passengers into custody without incident as they attempted to hide in a rear yard in the 1500 block of West 3rd Street. The vehicle had been stolen from a location in Elsmere moments before the incident.

 

Police have charged a 14-year-old male with resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and turned over to a parent on $500 unsecured bail.

 

Police have also charged a 15-year-old male, who also had an outstanding capias, with resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $5,500 secured bail.
