Wilmington Police are investigating a fatal stabbing incident that occurred at approximately 4:01 a.m. in the area of 2nd and Walnut Streets.

Police located a 44-year-old male victim at the scene. Police performed first aid and attempted life-saving measures before the victim was transported to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

This incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.
