SUSPECT: Phillip Macias Jr., 36-years-old of Rancho Cucamonga

SUMMARY:

On Thursday, June 20, 2019, at 8:22 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Day Creek Blvd. and Sugar Gum St. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle drove south on Day Creek Blvd., turned east on Church St. and entered the Victoria Gardens Mall. Deputies terminated the pursuit for public safety but maintained observation of the vehicle as it entered the east parking structure. The suspect, later identified as Phillip Macias Jr., abandoned his vehicle in the middle of an aisle and fled on foot. Deputies quickly located Macias and arrested him for evading and being under the influence.
