Police Investigate Shooting on Lester Avenue
Las Cruces police are investigating a shooting that was reported Friday afternoon at a residence on Lester Avenue.
About 3:20 p.m. Friday, June 21, police were dispatched to the report of shots fired on the 2300 block of Lester Avenue. Officers learned that one person, with a possible gunshot wound, was transported to a Las Cruces hospital. The condition of that person is not known at this time.
Police are following multiple leads and the investigation is expected to go into the evening.
A portion of Lester Avenue, between south Walnut Street and Stull Drive, is temporarily closed while police investigate the incident.
