IMPD Homicide detectives arrest man for his involvement in a homicide at 2900 N. Dearborn

INCIDENT TYPE: Homicide Arrest
 
INCIDENT LOCATION: 2900 N. Dearborn Street
 
INDIANAPOLIS -  Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Homicide detectives make an arrest in the June 12th shooting death of Albert Germany Jr.
 
Just before 5:45 p.m., on June 12, 2019, North district officers were flagged down in the 3300 block of N. Sherman Dr. on a person shot.  An adult female was observed to be suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She advised officers the incident occurred in the 2900 block of N. Dearborn Street.  IEMS responded and transported her to a local hospital for treatment.  East district officers were dispatched to the 2900 block of N. Dearborn Street to locate a possible crime scene.  As officers arrived they located a male, lying along the street, with apparent gunshot wounds.  Indianapolis EMS responded and pronounced him deceased at the scene. He was later identified as Albert Germany Jr.
 
Homicide detectives responded and immediately began canvassing the area for witnesses. The Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency responded to assist in identifying and collecting potential forensic evidence. The Marion County Coroner will be assisting and will determine the exact manner and cause of death.
 
Homicide detectives identified and arrested 28-year-old Dallas Jones for his alleged involvement in this incident.  The Marion County Prosecutors Office reviewed the case and charged Dallas M. Jones with murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
 
This is yet another example of the hard work and long hours our detectives dedicate to these cases.  We encourage the community to continue to support IMPD with information.  This helps build a stronger foundation in combatting the criminal element that threatens our community.
