Advisory

Thunderstorm Warning Issued. Flooding remains a hazard. Avoid flooded roads and waterways

Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 3:30 PM.  Flooding remains a hazard. Avoid flooded roads and waterways.

Please seek shelter.

Philadelphia and the surrounding counties have already received a large amount of rain over the past few days, including 4 inches overnight.

This caused waterways in our area to rise. Be aware of your local streams and creeks and do not approach. Flood water is murky, moves quick, and you cannot tell how deep it may be.

Check National Weather Service Water Gauges for your local waterway: https://water.weather.gov/ahps/

Since the region has experienced large amounts of rain over the past days, the ground is saturated. Water may run-off into streets and cause ponding or flooding, especially with large amounts of precipitation during a short period, overwhelming sewers.

Be aware of street ponding or flooding when traveling and use caution. Never drive through flood water or around a barrier.
