A citizen reported a man vandalizing/removing a street sign and pole; the suspect was later arrested

SUSPECT: Adam Carde Sancen, 31 years old, Transient Highland

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at 5:15 a.m., a concerned citizen called 911 to report a male removing a pole containing a stop sign and street sign located on the southwest corner of Boulder and Atlantic Avenues. The citizen confronted him and told him to put the sign back, however, the subject refused and fled the area with the sign.
Deputies from the Highland Police Department responded to area and were unable to locate the pole and street signs. During the investigation, information was gathered which identified Adam Carde Sancen as the suspect. Deputies contacted Carde Sancen at his grandmother's residence in Highland where they located the property and later returned the pole and street signs to the City of Highland.
Carde Sancen was arrested for Felony Vandalism and two outstanding arrest warrants. He was booked at the West Valley Detention Center and given a total bail amount of $85,000. His arraignment is scheduled for June 20, 2019, at the San Bernardino Justice Center.
