VICTIM:  Male Hispanic Adult
 
UNIT:  Homicide Bureau – Sergeant S. Hoglund
 
NARRATIVE:
 
At approximately 0920hrs, East Los Angeles Station Sheriff Deputies responded to the 8100 block of Atlantic Avenue, in the city of Cudahy, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that had just occurred.  Upon arrival, deputies located a single victim that had been struck by gunfire.  The male Hispanic victim in his early 20’s was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. The victim sustained at least one gunshot wound to his upper torso.
 
Responding deputies located the suspected shooter running west on an adjacent street.  The suspect was contacted and arrested without incident.  A firearm was recovered. 
 
Investigators learned the suspect and victim had been involved in an altercation just prior to the shooting. 
 
The investigation is ongoing.
