The victim in Tuesday morning's homicide has been identified as 18-year old Cameron Fritzjames Wittmann of Fairfield. This is an on-going investigation and no more information is available at this time.

On the morning of June 18, 2019, around midnight, Fairfield Police officers on patrol heard several gunshots, while dispatchers began receiving 911 calls regarding individuals who had been shot. Officers responded to the 1000 block of First Street where they found several teenagers in the street. Two males, ages 15 and 16, sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds and were transported by ambulance to a local trauma hospital. Four additional males were located at the scene and detained. They ranged in age from 15 to 18, and all six of the involved parties were from either Fairfield or Suisun City.
Almost immediately after the initial 911 calls were received, additional callers reported a vehicle collision in the area of Kansas Street and Tyler Street. Officers responded and found evidence of a shooting in addition to the crashed cars. An 18 year old male was pronounced dead at the scene of apparent gunshot wounds. The individual’s identity will not be released at this time pending notification of his family.
The Fairfield Police Department is still actively investigating both incidents, which appear to be related. Based on the investigation, detectives believe the involved parties are associated and this was not a random act. No arrests have been made at this time and detectives invite anyone with information about the events that transpired to contact us.
