Advisory

A suspicious package that was walked in to Palmyra Police Hq's has been deemed to not be hazardous .

At approximately 4pm Wednesday June 19th a subject with a suspicious letter walked into the lobby of Palmyra Police Hq’s. The letter had already been opened by the person who had received it. Out of concern for the contents of a second envelope that was enclosed in the main envelope, everything was sealed and removed to the police department’s rear parking lot. In an abundance of caution the Burlington County Health and Human Service and Haz-Mat Response Team responded to inspect the letter. No hazardous materials were found and the letters were turned over to law enforcement for further investigation.

Should you receive a suspicious letter or package to please hold on to it and call 911. If at all possible no packages should be brought into police hq’s.
