Tonight at 7 p.m. the "Short Run on a Long Day" will be taking place in downtown Frankfort.  Expect Traffic Delays from 7- 8 p.m.

Last night Frankfort and surrounding towns experienced burglaries to motor vehicles. Please see the video posted above to observe how quickly these offenders move and how they pull door handles to enter unlocked vehicles. Earlier this week a Nixle message was put out regarding a burglary to motor vehicle where the offenders used a garage door opener in a unlocked vehicle to obtain access to a garage and then stole the vehicle out of the garage. We once again encourage residents to lock their vehicle doors and never leave car keys or fobs inside of your vehicle. Remove valuables from your vehicle and report any suspicious vehicles, noises, or incidents to the Frankfort Police Department. These incidents occurred between the hours of 1-5 a.m., but others have occurred during various overnight hours. The video footage above was taken in the Lakeview Estates Subdivision at 3:40 a.m. We have and will continue to have extra patrols of residential areas throughout the overnight hours, we need your help to keep our community safe. Remember lock it, remove it, or lose it.
