Our Spanish Language Community Academy is just around the corner! The Novato Police Department's Fall Spanish Language Community Police Academy provides an inside look at local law enforcement for Spanish speakers.
Participants are introduced to a variety of law enforcement topics and provided and overview of the police department's function and operational procedures. The curriculum and teaching methods are similar to the traditional police academy; however, the weekly sessions are not designed to train the participants as a police officer.
Police officers and civilian employees teach the academy classes and students are encouraged to ask questions and express ideas and concerns to police employees.
The Community Academy has become a key element in the Novato Police Department's commitment to community policing and has created a collaborative partnership with the community. Many of our graduates have gone on to become police volunteers!
Classes begin September 4th, 2019 6:30PM - 9:00PM.
