Special Victims Bureau Investigating the Content of Video Depicting Child Abuse, #Lancaster

On June 18, 2019, detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau began an investigation into the content and circumstances of a video posted to social media web sites depicting a child being hit by an adult female.

The incident took place on June 14, 2019 at approximately, 4:30 p.m., while they were at a park on the 44900 block of 27th Street East in the city of Lancaster. 

The mother of the 9 year-old female child reported the incident to Lancaster Sheriff’s Station on June 16, 2019. The initial investigation by Lancaster Station patrol deputies indicate that the adult seen striking the child in the video is the day care provider of the child.  The day care facility is located in the city of Palmdale.   
 
Detectives are currently investigating the incident in conjunction with investigators with the California Department of Community Care and Licensing, and the Department of Children and Family Services. 
 
The investigation is on-going and no further information is being released at this time.
