Fire Weather Watch until 09:00PM Thursday

Strong wind gusts above 35 mph will combine with relative humidity values below 15% and dry fuels on Thursday afternoon. Critical fire weather conditions will be possible during the afternoon and early evening hours. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 207 Southwest Colorado Lower Forecast Area. In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 490 Colorado River Basin.

* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Should these conditions develop, rapid rates of fire growth and spread are possible.

* AFFECTED AREAS: SOUTHWEST COLORADO LOWER FORECAST AREA ... COLORADO RIVER BASIN
