Join the Police Training Institute (PTI), the Janesville Police Department, and PROJECT 16:49 for a Town Hall meeting to hear directly from you, our community. We want to hear about your experiences and thoughts on how law enforcement and youth in the community can work better - together! Your attendance and your input are invaluable.
One of the goals of the town hall is to provide a safe environment to openly communicate with all people on current issues and how to make our community a better place. Information from this Town Hall meeting will be used to assist the PTI team of instructors in preparing program materials for area police officers & sheriff's deputies and youth in the community.
The Fight Crime Invest in Kids - Police Training Institute (PTI) helps law enforcement and communities better understand each other. The trainings prepare officers to improve their ability to diffuse conflict and deal with stressful situations. There’s a special focus on dealing with teens – and helping police and teens understand how racial and cultural conflicts can impact the way they act toward each other. Meanwhile, the town hall meetings give everyday people a chance to talk through their frustrations and learn a little more about the challenges the police face.
