Law Enforcement Torch Run – June 18th – Traffic delays on San Pablo Avenue

On June 18th, at 11 am, members of the El Cerrito Police Department will be escorting the “Flame of Hope” for the Special Olympics. The “Flame of Hope” torch symbolizes courage and unity amongst our diverse communities. ECPD will receive the handoff from the Albany Police Department at Wells Fargo (9800 San Pablo Avenue). We will then carry the torch northbound on San Pablo Avenue until we arrive at Grocery Outlet in Richmond near San Pablo Avenue and MacDonald Avenue. At that point, we will handoff the torch to the Richmond Police Department. The final destination of the torch is the 2019 Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games in Davis on June 21st.

If you are driving in the area, please expect traffic delays. Marked El Cerrito Police vehicles will lead and follow behind the run to ensure the safety of our participants. We encourage the community to come out and cheer on our runners!
